According to the Meteorological Department, very heavy rain (21 cm or more) may occur at some places in Uttarakhand on 20-21 July. Rain alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between 19 and 24 July. At the same time, heavy rain is expected at some places in Western Uttar Pradesh from 19 to 22 July, in Eastern Uttar Pradesh on 21 July, in Jammu and Kashmir from 20 to 23 July, in Punjab and Haryana from 20 to 22 July, and in Rajasthan from 18 to 20 July. In the coming 7 days, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the Western Himalayas and plains.
There will be heavy rain in South India
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rains and strong winds for South India . Very heavy rains (21 cm or more) may occur at some places in Kerala between July 19 and 20. Heavy rains may occur in Kerala, Mahe, coastal and south interior Karnataka from July 19 to 24. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Tamil Nadu from July 19 to 22, in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on July 19. Heavy rains may occur at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, north interior Karnataka and Telangana between July 19 and 23, in Lakshadweep on July 19 and 20, and in Rayalaseema between July 19 and 20.
