Leave Travel Concession: The NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a big gift for crores of government employees of the country. The Center has now allowed its employees to travel by Vande Bharat Express and Tejas Express under Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) had received many suggestions from different offices / individuals regarding the acceptability of different premium trains under LTC, after which the central government decided to allow its employees to travel by Vande Bharat and Tejas under LTC.
Earlier, permission was given to travel in Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express and Duronto Express
In an order issued on Tuesday, DoPT said, “After examining and examining the matter, the Department of Personnel and Training in consultation with the Department of Expenditure has decided that now travel in Tejas Express, Vande Bharat Express and Humsafar Express trains will also be allowed under LTC as per the eligibility of government employees.” Let us tell you that before this decision, central government employees were allowed to travel under LTC in premium trains like Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express and Duronto Express.
The money spent on the ticket is refunded
Let us tell you that under Leave Travel Concession, eligible employees of the Central Government availing this facility get back the money spent by them on tickets for other journeys in addition to paid leaves. Under this facility, government employees can visit their village-home or any place in India during a block of 4 years. Under the scheme, government employees can either avail LTC to visit their home twice in a block of two years or can avail it to visit their home once in a period of two years and to visit any place in India in the second block of two years.
