Delhi Metro New Ticket Rules: Delhi Metro has given a new update to its millions of passengers regarding ticket booking. Now passengers can book tickets up to 120 days before the journey like trains.
This is important news for millions of passengers of Delhi Metro. DMRC, IRCTC and CRIS have joined hands to provide better travel experience to the passengers and promote the One India – One Ticket initiative of the Government of India. With this, Delhi Metro passengers will now be able to book tickets from IRCTC website or mobile app. Along with this, Delhi Metro passengers can now book metro tickets up to 120 days before travel like Indian Railways. At the same time, once booked, the ticket will also be valid for a total of 4 days. Let us know this important update related to Delhi Metro.
Joint initiative of DMRC and IRCTC
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have taken this initiative to bring a new revolution in the travel experience of main line railways. This will benefit the passengers of Delhi-NCR, as well as promote the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative of the Government of India.

Currently, Delhi Metro passengers buy their single journey tickets on the same day they have to travel and the validity of this ticket is also only for one day. With this new initiative, Delhi Metro’s ticket booking system DMRC-IRCTC QR code-based tickets will be synchronized with Indian Railways’ Advance Reservation Period (ARP).
To put it simply, now metro passengers can also book tickets for their journey 120 days in advance like railways. Along with this, the validity of these tickets of Delhi Metro (DMRC) will be for 4 days. Which means that if you book a ticket for 22nd July, then it will be valid from 21st July to 24th July.
beta version launched
Delhi Metro on Wednesday launched the beta version of QR code based ticketing. With this, Delhi Metro passengers can also book tickets from the official website of IRCTC and the Android version of the mobile app. Its regular version is also to be launched very soon.
