New Delhi. Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra were launched during the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris. The tech giant has introduced the first Ultra model in the Galaxy Watch series, replacing last year’s classic variant.
The base Galaxy Watch 7 will be available in 40mm and 44mm dials, while the Watch Ultra will be available in a single 47mm dial. Both smartwatches will support LTE and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The company said that the Ultra model is a performance-centric smartwatch suitable for extreme environments. These models will compete with Apple Watch.
In India, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 7 with Bluetooth is priced at Rs 29,999, while the Bluetooth and LTE variant is priced at Rs 33,999. The 44mm dial with Bluetooth only will be available at a price of Rs 32,999, while the Bluetooth and LTE variant can be purchased for Rs 36,999. Apart from this, the Galaxy Watch Ultra will be available at a price of Rs 59,999. Both models will be available for pre-order from Wednesday, July 10 at 8 pm IST and for sale from July 24.
Samsung has also given pre-booking offers for both models. Those who pre-book the Galaxy Watch 7 will get a multi-bank cashback of Rs 8,000 and an upgrade bonus of the same amount. Those who pre-book the Galaxy Watch Ultra will get a multi-bank cashback of Rs 10,000 or an upgrade bonus of the same amount.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is available in two dial sizes. The 40mm dial comes with dimensions of 40.4×40.4×9.7mm and weighs 28.8g. On the other hand, the 44m dial has dimensions of 44.4×44.4×9.7mm and weighs 33.8g. The smaller dial has a 1.3-inch (432×432 pixels) display, while the larger dial has a 1.5-inch (480×480 pixels) display. Both are Super AMOLED always-on displays.
Samsung’s base model smartwatch is powered by a 3nm Exynos W1000 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. This is the first time Samsung has used a 3nm processor in the Galaxy Watch lineup. The device runs on Google’s Wear OS-based One UI 6 Watch. The 40mm variant packs a 300mAh battery while the 44mm variant packs a 425mAh battery. Both support WPC-based wireless fast charging.
The smartwatch includes fitness trackers like heart rate, oxygen, and sleep monitoring. The device also has some new features like Workout Routines that allow users to combine different exercises and Race that allows them to compare current and past performances in real time. Apart from this, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 also includes AI algorithms for sleep analysis. It offers Novo FDA-authorized sleep apnea tracking, real-time alerts for abnormally high or low heart rate, and atrial fibrillation monitoring. Samsung claims that the smartwatch can also offer electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure monitoring to users.
Specifications and Features of Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is available in a single 47mm dial measuring 47.1×47.4×12.1mm and weighing 60.5g. It comes with a titanium-grade frame and has a 1.5-inch (480×480 inch) Super AMOLED always-on display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. This watch has the same processor, storage and operating system as the Watch 7. It is also 10ATM water resistant.
It has a 590mAh battery and supports WPC-based wireless fast charging. The company claims that it has the highest battery life in the Galaxy Watch lineup, lasting up to 100 hours in power-saving mode and up to 48 hours in exercise power-saving mode. Talking about health and fitness tracker, it has all the features of Galaxy Watch 7. Apart from this, Galaxy Watch Ultra comes with a new multi-sports tile that enables users to track multi-course workouts. A functional threshold power (FTP) feature has also been added here to measure maximum cycling power.
In addition, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra has a quick button that helps instantly start and control workouts. It can also activate an emergency siren and a night mode.
