Amit Shah Launched Bharatpol Portal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched the CBI’s Bharatpol portal, which aims to establish a system similar to Interpol in the country.

This portal has been specially designed to expedite the investigation of cyber crime, financial crime, organized crime, human trafficking and international crimes. It will also be possible to get real time information through this. This portal will work under the CBI, but its biggest advantage is that the state police will also be able to contact Interpol directly for intelligence input related to wanted criminals or fugitives. Apart from this, foreign law enforcement agencies will also be able to use Bharatpol to get information about criminals from Indian agencies. Thus, this portal will prove to be an important assistant in the field of international policing.

In his address on the occasion of the inauguration of Bharatpol, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, ‘This step will usher in a new era of international investigation work of our country’s law enforcement agencies. Earlier, where there was only one agency to work with Interpol, now after the launch of Bharatpol, the police and agencies of every state will be able to easily connect with Interpol and increase the speed of their investigation.’ He said that Bharatpol will have five major modules – Connect, Notice, Reference, Broadcast and Resource, through which all the law enforcement agencies of the country will be able to come on a common platform.

Amit Shah said that Bharatpol will provide a high-tech platform to the CBI, through which our agencies will be able to send evidence and documents to agencies of other countries quickly and receive information from them. Bharatpol will establish quick and effective communication between our officers for crime control.
