Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Northeast India and adjoining eastern areas for the next 7 days. This information has been given by the Meteorological Department.
The department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Uttarakhand from 5 to 10 August, Himachal Pradesh from 5 to 8 August, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab on 5 August, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh from 5 to 6 August, while heavy rains are expected in Eastern Uttar Pradesh on 5 August. For the next 7 days, light to moderate rains are expected along with thunder and lightning at many places in the western Himalayan regions and some places in the plains.
There will be heavy rain in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur at some places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from 5 to 9 August, Bihar from 5 to 9 August, Odisha on 6 and 7 August, Gangetic West Bengal on 6 and 7 August, Jharkhand on 7 and 8 August, while in North-West Madhya Pradesh on 5 August . Heavy rains are expected in Chhattisgarh from 8 to 10 August.
Apart from Assam and Meghalaya, it will rain here
According to the department, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from August 5 to 10. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may also have similar weather from August 5 to 8, and heavy rains may occur at some places.
There will be heavy rain in Kerala and Tamil Nadu
Very heavy rains may occur at some places in the hilly areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu on August 5 and 6. Heavy rains may occur in Mahe, coastal and south Karnataka from August 5 to 8, Lakshadweep from August 5 to 6, North Karnataka from August 6 to 8, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from August 5 to 7 and Rayalaseema from August 5 to 10.
Heavy rain expected in central Maharashtra
Heavy rains may occur at some places in Marathwada on 6 and 7 August, Konkan and Goa on 7 and 8 August and Madhya Maharashtra on 8 August. Light to moderate rains are expected at some places in this region for the next 5 to 6 days.
