Weather Updates: Heavy rains are falling from the western Himalayan states to Northeast India. Torrential rains have affected life in many states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Jharkhand.
In the last 36 hours, 47 people have lost their lives due to heavy rains across the country, out of which 32 are from Uttar Pradesh, 11 from Madhya Pradesh, and 4 from Rajasthan. Most of the deaths have occurred due to collapse of houses and walls, while 38 people have been injured.

The situation of rain and landslides has become very serious in Uttarakhand, due to which the Kedarnath Yatra has been stopped and orders have been given to keep all schools closed on Friday. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in 14 states including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next three days.
According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rains in many states of North India and Northeast. These include Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand. Especially in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, there is a danger of floods due to heavy rains.
Delhi weather
A yellow alert for rain has also been issued in Delhi-NCR on Friday, with winds expected to blow at a speed of 25 to 35 km/hr. Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, an order has been issued to close all schools up to class 12. The Kedarnath Yatra had to be stopped due to rain in Rudraprayag district, and about 2,500 pilgrims are stranded in Sonprayag. 168 routes have been closed in the state, and the risk of heavy rains and landslides has increased in many places.
Himachal Pradesh weather
The situation remains serious in Himachal Pradesh as well, where 37 roads are closed and 106 power projects have been affected. Flood and landslide warnings have been issued in some areas of the state. The high altitude areas of Dharchula have received the first snowfall of the season, while snowfall has also been recorded on the high peaks of Munsiyari and Kinnaur. Continuous rains in the lower areas of Rajasthan have caused waterlogging. Heavy rains have been recorded in districts like Dholpur, Bharatpur, Kota and Pratapgarh, and the gates of many dams had to be opened.
Rain alert in UP
Rainwater flooded the tracks at Aligarh railway station, affecting 10 trains. Trains were halted for some time due to signal failure, and orders have been given to close many schools. Heavy rains also killed 11 people in Madhya Pradesh, of which 7 people were killed in Datia when a wall collapsed on a house. The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
