Ticket Booking Rules: Indian Railways keeps making changes from time to time to provide convenience to passengers traveling by train. Last month, keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, the Railways made an important change in the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) on Mobile App. Under this, now you can book a general ticket (General Ticket Booking) or platform ticket (Platform Ticket online) if the distance is more than 20 kilometers from the station platform.
Earlier, the maximum distance limit for booking general tickets (UTS General Ticket Booking) through UTS on Mobile App was 20 kilometers.

After this change, passengers traveling in general coaches will not have to stand in long queues for hours at the ticket windows. Now you can book general tickets (General Train Ticket Booking Online) from your mobile sitting at home. How to book unreserved and platform tickets through UTS app?
- Download the UTS app: First, download and install the UTS app on your smartphone. This app is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store
- Create Account: After opening the app, create an account by filling in the required information including your mobile number and name.
- Login: Login using mobile number and password or OTP.
- Select platform ticket: If you want to book a platform ticket then select the “Platform Ticket” option displayed on the app.
- Choose paperless ticket: If you want to book an unreserved travel ticket through UTS app then choose the “Paperless Ticket” option.
- Fill in travel details: Enter the name of the travelling station (departure and destination) as well as the number of passengers.
- Book a ticket: Tap the “Book Ticket” button.
- Make Payment: Make payment using wallet or other payment options.
- Get Tickets: Once the payment is done, your ticket will appear on the screen.
- You can download it or receive it via SMS.
