Toll Plaza Tax: In today’s fast paced life, everyone is in a hurry. People also get stuck in traffic jams on the roads. At the same time, many people are also troubled by the traffic jams at toll plazas.

Some people also have problems with toll tax. Sometimes you must have seen that a vehicle goes out without paying toll tax. In such a situation, you must be wondering which vehicles do not have to pay toll tax. Who do not have to pay toll tax? For this, the Transport Ministry has released a list regarding this. Which includes about 25 people. Who do not have to pay toll tax.

Let us tell you that toll tax is used to construct roads keeping in mind the safety of vehicles. It is under the control of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Fastag has been introduced by the Government of India to collect toll, which is a cashless toll travel payment process.

These people do not have to pay toll tax

There are many people in the country who do not have to pay toll tax. These include vehicles of President of India, Vice President of India, Prime Minister of India, Governor of any state, Chief Justice of India, Speaker of Lok Sabha, Cabinet Minister, Chief Minister of any state, Supreme Court Judge, Minister of State of the Union, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory, Chief of Staff of full general or equivalent rank, Chairman of Legislative Council of any state, Speaker of Legislative Assembly of any state, Chief Justice of High Court, High Court Judge, Member of Parliament, Army Commander of Army Chief and equivalent in other services, Chief Secretary of State Government, Secretary to Government of India, Secretary, Council of States, Lok Sabha, Secretary.

They also get discounts

Central and state armed forces in uniform including paramilitary forces and police, executive magistrates, fire fighter department, hearse vehicles are also exempted from toll tax. Apart from these, foreign dignitaries on state visit, member of Legislative Assembly of a state and member of Legislative Council of a state within their respective state, if they show their identity card issued by the respective legislature of the state, then they are exempted from toll tax.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had issued a guideline two years ago that the service time for vehicles at every toll plaza in India should not exceed 10 seconds. Not only this, according to this guideline, even if there is heavy traffic at the toll plaza, the service time should not exceed 10 seconds.

Know what is the service time

The time taken by the vehicle to go beyond the toll booth after paying the toll tax is called service time. The purpose of this rule is to reduce the time taken by vehicles at the toll booth. Now according to this new rule, the queue of vehicles at the toll plaza should not be more than 100 meters long.
