This is an important news for millions of customers of Punjab National Bank (PNB). This news is for those PNB customers who have not used their savings account for the last 3 years. Such customers whose account balance has been zero for the last several years and no transaction has taken place. If such customers want to keep their savings account active, then they must get this work done by June 30. All such accounts which have not been activated will be closed from July 1.
Check whether you have received a notice from PNB?
If you have a savings account in PNB Bank, then check its status first. PNB is going to close such accounts by this month. The bank has said in its notification that the accounts in which there has been no transaction for the last 3 years. Also, those whose account balance has remained at zero rupees for the last three years. It is going to close them. Notice has been sent to such customers. Those accounts will be closed one month after sending the notice. If you want to keep those accounts active, then go to the bank branch and get KYC done immediately.

PNB has given time till 30 June to the savings account holders
Many scammers misuse such accounts which are not being used by the customers for a long time. To deal with such cases, the bank has taken this big step. According to the notification issued by the bank, the calculation of the account will be done on the basis of 30 April 2024. PNB has said in its notification that all those accounts will be closed after 1 month, which are not active for the last 3 years. That is, they are not operating. Such accounts whose bank account is zero in the last three years and in which no activity i.e. transaction has been done. The bank had already sent notice to such customers.
Will have to be activated by 30 June
According to the notification issued by the bank, if the account becomes inactive and the customer wants to activate the account again, then such customers will have to go to the branch and fill the KYC form. Along with the KYC form, the customer will also have to attach the necessary documents. After this, their account will be activated. Customers can go to the bank for more information.
These accounts of PNB will not be closed
The bank will not close the Demat Accounts. That is, this rule will not apply to Demat Accounts. In a post shared on social media, the bank said that PNB Bank will not close the accounts opened for schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY). Also, it will not close the Minor Savings Account.
