Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding heavy rain for the next 24 hours.

According to this, flood-like conditions can also arise due to heavy rains in some places. There is a warning of moderate flash flood in these states, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from this, such conditions can also arise in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. According to the IMD, similar forecast has been made for eastern Rajasthan and eastern parts of western Rajasthan.

Heavy rain in these regions till July 9

The Meteorological Department has said in its warning that there may be heavy rainfall in North West and East India till July 7. At the same time, heavy rain has been predicted in North Eastern India between July 9 and 10. Apart from this, there is a warning of light to heavy rain in coastal areas of Karnataka, South interior Karnataka on July 6 and 7.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till July 9. At the same time, dense clouds have been seen in Himachal Pradesh, North Punjab, Rajasthan. Due to this there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning here.

Red alert here

Meanwhile, in view of the ‘red alert’ issued in Dakshina Kannada district due to warning of heavy rains in the next 24 hours, the district administration has announced closure of all schools up to Class 12 on Saturday.

An official spokesperson said here that the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center (KSNDMC) and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) have issued a ‘red alert’ in view of the possibility of heavy rains in the districts of coastal Karnataka, especially Dakshina Kannada district, on Saturday. The spokesperson said that in view of this, District Magistrate MP Mullai Muhilan has directed closure of all schools up to Class 12 in the district on Saturday.
