Heavy Rain Alert: After a long wait, the monsoon has come in full swing. After almost two months of intense heat, the period of heavy rains has now begun in the country. The Meteorological Department had said on Monday that the monsoon has completely covered the entire country six days before the scheduled time. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that many states including UP will witness very heavy rains for the next 5 days.

IMD told in which areas there will be heavy rain

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be very heavy rains in the northwest, eastern and northeastern parts for the next four to five days. On the other hand, if we talk about the last 24 hours, there has been very heavy rain in coastal and southern Karnataka, eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Andaman and Nicobar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, due to which normal life has been greatly affected.

Apart from heavy rains, there is also a warning of thunderstorm and lightning in these states

The Meteorological Department further said in its update that apart from heavy rains, warning of thunderstorms and lightning has also been issued for the next five days in North West and Central India. At the same time, there is a strong possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh from July 4 to 6, Himachal Pradesh from July 6 to 7, Uttarakhand on July 8, Punjab on July 4, 6 and 7. Apart from this, very heavy rains with strong winds are going to be seen in Haryana, Chandigarh from July 4 to 6, Uttar Pradesh from July 4 to 8, Rajasthan on July 5 and 6, Madhya Pradesh on July 5, Chhattisgarh on July 4, 7 and 8.

The weather will change in these states too

Most of the states of the country will witness heavy rains in the coming days. In its update, the Meteorological Department said that West Bengal will receive heavy rains on July 4, Andaman and Nicobar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya will receive heavy rains between July 5 and 8. At the same time, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana are likely to receive heavy rains for the next five days.
