Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed in many states on 6 and 7 June, know the list of RBI holidays

Bank Holiday : In many parts of the country, banks will remain closed for two days on the occasion of Bakrid i.e. Eid-ul-Adha and Eid-ul-Zuha. According to the list of holidays of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), public and private sector banks will remain closed in some states on 6 and 7 June.

Apart from this, there will be a regular weekly holiday across the country on Sunday, 8 June. That is, from today, banks will remain closed for 3 days in some states.

June 2025 Bank Holidays Schedule

6 June (Friday): Banks will remain closed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in Kerala on the occasion of Bakrid. This festival is an important occasion in Islam, which commemorates the devotion and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim for Allah.

7 June (Saturday): Banks will remain closed in most parts of the country on account of Bakrid, but banks will remain open in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram as it is the first Saturday of the month. In India, banks are closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays.

June 8 (Sunday): All banks across the country will remain closed on account of regular weekly holiday.

Will online banking work?

Yes, online services like UPI, Internet Banking and Mobile Banking will remain fully operational during these holidays. Customers can easily carry out money transfers, checkbook requests, debit/credit card services and NEFT/RTGS transactions through these mediums.
