Ayushman Yojana: Now everyone above 70 years of age will be treated under Ayushman Yojana

Ayushman Yojana: President Draupadi Murmu has given a great news to the elderly of the country while addressing the 18th Lok Sabha. On Thursday, she said that all the elderly above the age of 70 years will be treated under the Ayushman Yojana.

The Bharatiya Janata Party had also promised this in the manifesto released during the Lok Sabha elections. The Lok Sabha session has started from 24 June.

On Thursday, in Parliament House, President Murmu said that in the new government, we are giving the benefit of Ayushman to all the people above 70 years of age. Not only this, the government has also worked continuously for the farmers. 20 thousand crores were transferred to the farmers. With this, we have made the farmers more self-reliant.

While releasing the manifesto, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned the elderly of 70 years and above. He had said, ‘The biggest worry of the elderly is how to get treatment for their illness. This worry is even more serious for the middle class. BJP has now resolved that every person above 70 years of age will be brought under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.’

The BJP manifesto said, ‘We will expand the Ayushman Bharat scheme to cover the elderly and provide them free and good quality health services.’ This scheme was launched by the then Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during the budget for the financial year 2019. It is also called Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, under which a cover of Rs 5 lakh is currently available.

During this, President Murmu also mentioned ‘MY Bharat’. She said that the government has started the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat – MY Bharat’ campaign to increase the participation of youth in nation building. She said that more than 1.5 crore youth have registered in it so far. She also said that the government is also working towards creating a digital university.
