7th Pay Commission: Good news for government employees, this state has opened the treasury, salary will increase by 27.5 percent

Now the Karnataka government has given good news to its state employees. The government has decided to implement the 7th Pay Commission in the state. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on Monday.

After the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission in Karnataka, there will be a great increase in the salary of the employees. On one hand, the salary of the employees will increase, but there will be a huge burden on the government treasury.

News agency PTI, citing sources, said that the Karnataka Cabinet meeting on Monday decided to implement the Seventh Pay Commission. The Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented in Karnataka from August 1, 2024. After the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, there will be a great increase in the salary of the employees.

PTI, citing sources, said that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may announce salary hike today. The salary hike will benefit more than 7 lakh employees of the state.

The demand for 7th Pay Commission has been going on for a long time
Karnataka government employees have been demanding the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission for a long time. Karnataka State Government Employees Union had also planned to go on an indefinite strike from August to implement the 7th Pay Commission. The government has taken this decision after the news of going on strike.

The burden on the government treasury will increase

According to media reports, the increase in the salary of government employees will put a heavy burden on the state government’s treasury. It is believed that the government may have to bear an additional burden of Rs 17,440.15 crore annually.

The 7th Pay Commission headed by former Chief Secretary K Sudhakar Rao has recommended a 27.5 percent increase in the basic salary. But, it is expected that the Siddaramaiah government can increase the salary of the employees by 10.5 percent, after which the basic salary of the employees will increase by 27.5 percent.
