BSNL News: There is good news for the users of government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The company is preparing to provide high speed internet facility to its customers. BSNL’s 5G service is likely to be launched by the end of 2025.
According to a report by Moneycontrol, BSNL is planning to launch 5G services in 6 to 8 months after completing the expansion of its 4G network by March 2025. The report also states that the company is targeting 25 per cent customer market share by the end of 2025.
Currently, only Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio are providing 5G coverage to 9 crore and 10.8 crore customers respectively across India. At the same time, Vodafone Idea has said that it is in the process of placing orders to procure equipment from various vendors.

In early July, all three operators increased their tariffs, due to which the prices increased by 10 to 27 percent. In such a situation, people started thinking of BSNL as an option for cheap recharge and the trend of BSNL’s homecoming started on social media. Not only this, within 15 days of the tariff hike, lakhs of users ported their numbers to BSNL.
BSNL had also announced recently that it will introduce Over-the-Air (OTA) and Universal SIM (USIM) platforms that work on 4G and 5G. This will benefit customers as they will be able to choose their mobile number as well as change their SIM without geographical restrictions.
