Weather Update: Now there will be heavy rain in these areas, know the latest alert of IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over southern Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe on November 25, 26 and 27.

Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected over Nicobar Islands till November 24 and Rayalaseema on November 26 and 27. According to the latest information from the IMD, light to moderate rains may occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today, and hailstorms are also likely over Meghalaya on November 22.

During the week, above normal rainfall is expected over Northeast India and above normal rainfall over South Peninsular India. The IMD has predicted dense fog conditions in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from late night of November 22 to morning of November 24. Dense fog is likely over Himachal Pradesh during night and morning hours from November 23 to 26. Light to moderate fog conditions may be seen over many areas of North India during this weekend.

Heavy rain likely at some places

According to the latest weather update, a low pressure area will form over southeast Bay of Bengal around November 23, which may lead to scattered to widespread rainfall with heavy rainfall at some places over many parts of south peninsular India during the first half of the week. No active western disturbance is likely over northwest India during this week.

No cold wave expected

According to the IMD, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over northwest, central and east India during the next week. Moreover, there is no possibility of cold wave in any part of the country this week.

IMD weather forecast for Delhi

According to the report, air pollution in Delhi has risen to 17 times the acceptable level. The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and adjoining areas (CAQM) revised the GRAP earlier this week, due to which schools have been closed under phase 3 and 4 in Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar districts of Delhi-NCR. AQI: According to the CPCB, Delhi’s overall AQI on November 22 was 369 in the ‘very poor’ category.
