The purpose of this decision is to give children a break from the scorching heat, so that they can spend this time comfortably with their family. This means that although the start and end dates of holidays may vary in some states, all schools will start the summer holidays at approximately the same time to give students the necessary rest.
When are the holidays starting in which state
The holiday dates may vary slightly from state to state, but in most places schools will be closed from early June to mid-July. In Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi-NCR and Bihar, both government and private schools will have summer holidays for a total of 46 days from June 1 to July 16, 2025.
All schools in Maharashtra and Karnataka will remain closed from 30 May to 14 July. Whereas, in Rajasthan, holidays will be given from 31 May to 15 July, which will be applicable only to government schools. In West Bengal, schools will remain closed from 2 June to 17 July, here there will be one day less i.e. a total of 45 days of holidays.
