Alwar Railway Station: People are using trains for travelling during summer vacations. In such a situation, an important news has come for railway passengers. Indian Railways has changed the rules for making reservation charts.
Now the train chart will be prepared 24 hours in advance instead of 4 hours, so that passengers will know in advance whether their ticket is confirmed or not.
Railways used to prepare the first chart 4 hours in advance and the second chart 30 minutes in advance. This rule will not apply to Tatkal tickets. Currently, it has been implemented in Bikaner division as a pilot project, where the chart is being prepared 24 hours before the departure of the train. Soon this system will be implemented in other divisions as well. Now the reservation chart of the train will be prepared 24 hours in advance, due to which passengers will get information about ticket confirmation in advance.
The advantage of the new rules of the reservation chart
is that the passengers will know in advance which seat they have got and what is the status of the waiting list. If the ticket is not confirmed, they will have the option of Tatkal ticket.
How to take advantage of the new rules of reservation chart?
Booking of Tatkal tickets starts 24 hours before the departure of the train from its origin station. If the train departs at 11:00 pm, then Tatkal tickets for AC will be booked a day before at 10:00 am and for sleeper class at 11:00 am. According to the railway, if a waiting ticket of RAC and non-AC class is cancelled 30 minutes before the preparation of the reservation chart, a fee of Rs. 60 will be charged and if a waiting ticket of AC class is cancelled, a fee of Rs. 65 will be charged.
