IMD has issued a warning…There will be heavy rain in these districts in the next 24 hours

Weather News: Due to a strong weather system active in Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains are continuously occurring in many parts of the state. On Monday also, many districts witnessed torrential rains and the same situation may continue on Tuesday as well.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rains in seven districts of the state – Narmadapuram, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat. About 8 inches of rain is expected in these areas in the next 24 hours.

Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Sehore, Harda, Raisen, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Damoh, Jabalpur, Chhatarpur, Panna, Katni, Dindori and Umaria districts. At the same time, light rain is likely to continue in Bhopal and Indore.

On Monday, heavy rain was witnessed in more than 30 districts of the state. Two and a half inches of water was recorded in Seoni after continuous rain for about 9 hours. About one and a quarter inch rain was recorded in Pachmarhi and Malajkhand, about 1 inch in Shajapur, Chhindwara and Shivpuri, while about three-fourth inch rain was recorded in Narmadapuram and Jabalpur and half an inch in Betul. At the same time, intermittent rain continued in many districts including Bhopal, Ujjain, Mandla, Umaria, Narmadapuram, Betul, Shivpuri, Dindori, Balaghat, Sehore, Vidisha, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Dewas and Indore.

Know why it is raining heavily

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is active over West Bengal, while the monsoon trough line is affecting Madhya Pradesh via Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, a trough line on the upper surface of the air is extending from South Rajasthan to West Bengal, which is passing through the middle of Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, rain is likely to continue in many parts of the state.

Heavy rainfall warning has been issued especially in Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol and Jabalpur divisions. At the same time, good rainfall is also expected in Rajgarh, Sehore and Vidisha districts of Bhopal division. According to the department, strong winds, whose speed can reach up to 40 km per hour, are also expected in these areas.

Due to these weather conditions, flood like situation may occur in Anuppur, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Damoh, Dindori, Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Seoni, Shahdol and Umaria districts on Tuesday. People have been advised to remain alert and safe.
