Heavy Rain Alert: The second round of monsoon rains is continuing in Rajasthan. Heavy to very heavy rains were witnessed at many places in the last 24 hours. The Jaipur centre of the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding the weather.
According to the department, light to moderate rains and heavy rains at some places in most parts of eastern Rajasthan are likely to continue for the whole week. At the same time, light to moderate rains can be seen in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan in the next two-three days, heavy rains have been predicted by the department at one or two places.
The highest rainfall occurred in Bassi of Chittorgarh district
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall of 320 mm was recorded in Bassi of Chittorgarh district during this period. Continuous and heavy rain has affected life in many places. According to the department, almost all parts of Rajasthan received rain in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy rain was recorded at many places.
Problem due to waterlogging in low lying areas in cities and towns
The Meteorological Department said that Bhilwara received 20 cm of rain, Chittorgarh’s Gangarar received 16 cm, Ajmer’s Jawaja received 13 cm, Pratapgarh’s Arnod received 12 cm, Banswara’s Ghatol received 10 cm and Kota received 7 cm of rain. Apart from this, many places in Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur districts received more than 5 cm of rain. Due to continuous heavy rains, waterlogging was seen in low lying areas of many cities and towns in eastern Rajasthan, which affected normal life.
Heavy rains are also forecast in these state
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of very heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh as well as Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan in the next four to five days. The department said that during this period, monsoon will remain active in many parts of northwest, central and eastern India.
