Maha Kumbh 2025 is going on and many facilities are being provided to the devotees coming to this religious event. Taking a historic step, the Uttar Pradesh government has waived the toll tax at 7 toll plazas for private vehicles going to Prayagraj.
This will make it easier for the devotees to reach the Maha Kumbh and they will not have to face any kind of problem on the way. This facility will continue for the next few days and about 100 devotees coming to the Maha Kumbh will get the benefit of it.
Which toll plazas will come under toll free?
Devotees visiting Prayagraj during Maha Kumbh 2025 will get relief from toll tax at 7 major toll plazas. These toll plazas are:
- Chitrakoot Highway : Umapur Toll Plaza
- Ayodhya Highway : Mauaima Toll
- Lucknow Highway : Andhiya Toll
- Mirzapur Road : Mungari Toll
- Varanasi Road : Handia Toll
- Kanpur Road : Kokhraaj Toll
- Rewa Highway : Ganne Toll Plaza
Now private vehicles will not have to pay toll tax at these toll plazas. This will provide significant relief to the devotees during the journey and they will be able to easily reach Maha Kumbh without any financial burden.
Which vehicles will avail this toll free facility?
This relief will be only for private and personal use vehicles. This means that cars, private vehicles and other small vehicles will be able to avail this facility. However, commercial and heavy goods vehicles will not be given toll tax exemption. Thus, only private vehicles will be able to avail this special toll free service.
Government’s preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025
The number of devotees coming to Maha Kumbh 2025 has reached about 60 crores. In such a situation, the government has planned to provide many facilities for the devotees. Toll free service is an important part of this. Earlier in the Maha Kumbh of the year 2019, toll free facility was given to the devotees, which had a positive effect. The government and the National Highway Authority of India have continued the same tradition this time as well and announced toll free facility.
Other facilities for devotees
Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the devotees during the Maha Kumbh, the government has made some more important arrangements:
- Special barricading on the highway : Barricading will be done on major routes so that devotees do not face any problems during the yatra.
- Help desk and volunteers at toll plazas : Help desks and volunteers will be arranged at every toll plaza to assist the pilgrims.
- Additional parking facility : Additional parking will be arranged on main routes so that there is no obstruction to the traffic.
- Special teams for traffic control in Sangam city : Traffic police and other teams will be deployed to maintain smooth traffic system in Sangam city.
These facilities will not only make the journey of the devotees comfortable but will also make the arrangements of the Maha Kumbh more smooth and safe.
