Share Market Holiday List November 2024: The share market is going to be closed for 7 days in the month of November. Stock markets will remain closed in view of Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 15 and Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20.
The Indian stock market consists of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The NSE had on November 8 announced a holiday on November 15 and 20. The stock market will now be closed for 2 days in November. If the remaining 5 weekend holidays are added to this, the stock market will remain closed for seven days. During these days, all transactions related to trading and settlement such as currency derivatives, futures and options, stock and commodity derivatives will remain closed.
Stock market holidays in 2024
The stock market in 2024 was earlier closed on November 1 on the occasion of Diwali. However, on Diwali, one hour special muhurat commercial trading was conducted on November 1 from 6:00 pm to 7:10 pm. Now the share market will be closed on November 15 due to Guru Nanak Jayanti and Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20.
November 15 (Friday): Stock market closed due to Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti. Rahga is an important religious festival of Sikhism.
November 20 (Wednesday): Markets will remain closed due to Maharashtra assembly elections. On this day, 288 seats of the state will vote and the counting of votes will be held on November 23. The current term of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly ends on November 26. A tough contest is likely between the Maha Vikas Agari (MVA) and the Mahayuti alliance in the state. Maharashtra contributes 13-14% of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) , so these elections have special economic and political significance. Apart from this, the share market will be closed for one day on December 25 on the occasion of Christmas next month.
