Till now, to get ration, they had to go to the government ration shop and put their thumb impression, only then they would get ration. But in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has changed the rules related to this for some people.
Now these people will not need to put their thumb impression. Now they will get ration on their ration card only through OTP. Although at present this system is being started in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, but gradually this system will be implemented in other districts of Uttar Pradesh as well.
Who will get the benefit of this
Actually there are many ration card holders whose thumb does not work on POS machines. Due to which they face a lot of problems, that is why Yogi government has started a new system of OTP. But this process will not be for everyone. Only those people will be able to take advantage of this process who are elderly or do hard labour and whose thumb impression has been damaged.
What will be the process?
Such ration card holders whose thumb impressions are lost, they will have to register their phone number with an application in the district supply office. After this, they will be able to get ration through OTP. Earlier, they used to get ration by putting their thumb impression at the ration dealer. Now they will have to tell their mobile number there. After entering the mobile number, OTP will come and after telling the OTP, they will be given ration.
