Rain Alert: During 20-22 March, many parts of central, eastern and northeastern India may experience thunderstorms and lightning. The Meteorological Department has expressed its possibility.
According to the department, a trough is active from central Odisha to Vidarbha. Along with this, due to the cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal, moisture will be seen in eastern and central India.
Chances of rain in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds (30-50 kmph) in Bihar on 21 and 22 March. On the other hand, light/moderate rain with thunder and strong winds is likely in eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between 20 and 22 March. There is a possibility of rain in western Madhya Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 20 and 21 March. Strong winds have also been predicted in these states.
There will be rain in Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in Vidarbha on March 21 and 22. Some areas of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha may receive rain with strong winds (40-60 kmph), thunderstorms and lightning between March 20 and 22.
Chances of rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland
Arunachal Pradesh may receive light to moderate rainfall between March 21 and 23, while heavy rain is expected in some areas on March 21 and 22. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may receive thunderstorms for the next 5 days. Strong winds with a speed of 30-50 kmph are forecast here.
Chances of rain in Haryana and Punjab
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning in Punjab on March 20. Haryana and Chandigarh may receive light rain on March 20.
Rain forecast in Uttar Pradesh
Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected in Uttar Pradesh between 20 and 22 March. Strong winds of 30-40 kmph may blow in some areas.
Light rain forecast in Rajasthan
Due to the effect of a new western disturbance, light rain is expected in many places of Rajasthan on Thursday and Friday. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, due to the effect of a new western disturbance, the sky will remain cloudy once again on March 20 and there may be light rain with thunder in some places in the northern parts of the state. On March 21, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder in some places in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions and the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in most of the remaining parts for the next 4-5 days.
