2 October – Gandhi Jayanti (Public holiday)
10 October – Durga Ashtami (Holiday in many states)
11 October – Mahanavami (Banks, schools, offices will remain closed)
12 October – Dussehra/Vijayadashami (Public holiday)
13 October – Sunday (Weekly holiday)
14 October – Post-Dussehra holiday (Holiday in many places)
Long holidays:
In October, many states will get 5 consecutive days of holidays between October 10 and 14. These holidays will be mainly due to Navratri, Dussehra and weekend. Schools, banks and offices will remain closed on these days.
Navratri and Dussehra holidays:
There will be school and bank holidays on the last days of Navratri due to Maha Ashtami (October 11), Mahanavami (October 11) and Dussehra (October 12). These festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India, so there will be public holidays on these days in many states.
Bank Holidays:
The list of holidays for banks in October has also been released. Along with Maha Ashtami, Mahanavami, and Dussehra, banks will also remain closed on second Saturdays and Sundays.
