Powerful Passports 2024: Henley & Partners has released a new ranking of passports of countries around the world.

Passport is required first to travel abroad. Every country’s passport has its own strength. The stronger the passport of a country, the more countries its citizens get the benefit of visa free entry.

There was a time when the passports of America and Britain were considered the most powerful in the world, but now that era is over. Now Asian countries are at the top in the list of the most powerful in the world. Their rank is also released every year. This time India has shown its strength. At the same time, Pakistan’s passport has also improved a bit.

London-based global citizenship and residency advisory firm Henley & Partners has released a list of the world’s most powerful passports. Singapore tops the Passport Index 2024 rankings. Before Singapore, Japan’s passport used to be the most powerful.

India jumps in the ranks

Actually, the ranking of passports is done on the basis of how many countries the people holding it get visa-free entry. One point is given to the passport for every visa-free entry. On the basis of which the global ranking is prepared. In the year 2024, the Indian passport has jumped 2 points to 82nd place. According to the Henley Passport Index, the Indian passport gives visa-free entry to 58 countries. In the year 2023, India’s global ranking was 84th. At the same time, India’s neighbouring poor Pakistan has somehow managed to make it to the 100 countries this time. However, it has become a little stronger compared to last year.

Singapore’s passport is the most powerful

Singapore has retained the title of the world’s most powerful passport this year as well. According to the 2024 Index, Singapore’s passport gives its holders visa-free entry to 195 countries. The passports of France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain are jointly at the second position. They get entry to 192 countries and territories.

The numbers written in front of the names of countries indicate that you can travel to that many countries in your passport without a visa.
