Under this scheme, your family will get up to 300 units of free electricity every month. In this way, by installing roof top solar unit (Free Solar Rooftop Yojana 2024) you can avail free electricity worth about Rs 15,000 in a year.

However, if you use more electricity than this, you will have to pay for the extra electricity.

Who can avail the benefits of PM Surya Ghar Yojana

First of all, know who can apply for this scheme. To apply for PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme (Muft Bijli Yojana Online Apply), you must have enough space to install solar panels on the roof of your house. To avail this scheme, it is necessary to be a citizen of India. Apart from this, your age should be more than 18 years.

At the same time, you should have necessary documents like Aadhar card, electricity bill, bank passbook, income certificate (if necessary), passport size photo.

How to apply for PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme?

  • For this, you go to the portal https://www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in/. Go to its home page and click on Apply For Rooftop Solar.
  • After this, the registration and login page will open on your screen. Here you will have to go to registration and enter your State, District, Electricity Distribution Company / Utility, Consumer Account Number written on the electricity bill.
  • After this, enter your mobile number. Enter the OTP and captcha sent for verification and click on the Submit button. If your registration is successful, you will get a confirmation in the message.
  • Once the registration is done, then click on the login section appearing on the registration page. Once you login for Roof Top Solar, upload the scanned copy of your documents. After uploading Aadhar Card, Electricity Bill, and Bank Passbook, click on the Submit button.
