Telecom company Reliance Jio has increased its prepaid plans by 12.5% to 25%. The new rates will be applicable from July 3. The special thing is that the new rates will not be applicable to existing users. Reliance Jio has announced that there has been no increase in tariff for Jio Bharat and Jio Phone users. Reliance Jio has increased the prices of its 19 plans, of which 17 are prepaid and 2 are postpaid. The special thing is that for the first time Jio has increased its tariff before Airtel.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash M Ambani said in a statement that the launch of new plans is a step towards driving industry innovation and promoting green growth through investment in 5G and AI technology. According to the company’s statement, unlimited 5G data will be available on all plans of 2 GB per day and above.
This is how the plan was increased
- According to the new tariff plan of Reliance Jio, the base tariff which was earlier Rs 155 has now been increased to Rs 189. This means that it has been increased by 22%. The price of the monthly tariff of Rs 399 has been increased to Rs 449.
- If we talk about the two-month plan, the Rs 479 plan has been increased to Rs 579. On the other hand, the Rs 533 plan has been increased to Rs 629.
- Earlier the 3 month plan was priced between Rs 395 and Rs 999. This has been increased to Rs 479 and Rs 1199.
- The annual plan of Rs 1559 will now be available for Rs 1899. The annual plan of Rs 2999 has been given for Rs 3599.
- Talking about data add-on plan, which was earlier priced from Rs 15 to Rs 61, has been increased to Rs 19 to Rs 69.
Postpaid plan also increased
Jio has increased the price of two postpaid plans. The postpaid plan of Rs 299 has been increased to Rs 349. In which 30 GB data is available free. On the other hand, the postpaid plan of Rs 399 has been increased to Rs 449. In this plan, 75 GB data is available per month.
Will Airtel and Wi-Fi increase?
It is expected that Airtel and Vodafone Idea are next. This is the first time that Jio has increased the tariff before Airtel. After Jio’s increase, Airtel may also see an increase. After that, Vodafone Idea may also see an increase. Recently, telecom companies participated in the bid for 5G spectrum.
