Railway train tickets are available four months in advance. That is, booking of tickets for 9th November 2024 opened at 8 am today. But people sitting to book tickets were disappointed this morning. Because the ticket booking site of the government company Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation https://www.irctc.co.in/ crashed before 8:10 am today.

Booking opens at 8 am

Reservation for the train starts four months in advance. Booking for 9 November 2024 was opened today at 8 am. This booking opens at 8 am at the railway reservation counter. But for those who book on the website, the booking starts 10 minutes later, i.e. at 08:10. But today this booking did not happen. An error was visible on the users’ screens.

People’s anger erupted on social media

As soon as the IRCTC site crashed, people’s anger started erupting on social media. People started posting by tagging the Railway Ministry, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and the PMO.

This has happened before

The railways’ train ticket booking site had crashed in July last year too. At that time too, it was the time for booking return tickets for Chhath. At that time, it was said that the site was down due to technical reasons.

What does IRCTC have to say?

When IRCTC spokesperson was contacted, he accepted that ticket booking is not happening on their website. He said that there is a technical problem. Efforts are being made to resolve it.
