New Delhi. Indian Railways said on Wednesday that it has successfully completed the trial run of the electric engine on the country’s first cable-based rail bridge (Anji Khad Bridge) in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Operations on this bridge are expected to start from January next year. After this, the way will be cleared for the start of rail services in Kashmir. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also posted a video of the trial run.
The Union Minister posted a video on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote, “The first electric engine passed through tunnel number 1 and Anji Khad cable bridge.” He also shared a video clip of this. The work of Anji Khad railway bridge was completed last month. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised it on the completion of the bridge. This bridge is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link project, which aims to provide rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country.
