Dell Layoffs: The phase of layoffs in the tech-IT sector continues. Dell, a leading computer-laptop manufacturing company, has announced a major layoff, the reason for which is said to be AI (Artificial Intelligence).
According to media reports, Dell has announced a major reorganization in its sales division. Business Insider reports that the company will centralize its sales teams and create a new AI-focused sales unit.
Due to the change, about 10 percent of Dell’s employees will lose their jobs. A total of 12,500 employees will fall victim to this change. Employees have received a memo from Dell’s senior executives Bill Scannell and John Byrne. Its title is – Global Sales Modernization Update. It says that we are redefining our priorities.
According to the report, many employees of Dell’s sales team have confirmed that they have been fired or their colleagues have lost their jobs. According to a person aware of the matter, this layoff has affected managers and senior managers the most. Apart from managers, directors and VPs have also been affected by the layoffs. People have also lost their jobs in marketing and operations.

According to reports, the company has been continuously laying off employees for some time. The report quotes an employee as saying that the company is laying off employees every 6 months. The employee says that he has been looking for a job for a long time.
