Under this scheme, the poor are given government assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh so that they can build their own house.
Now the central government has made a big change in this scheme. Till now, one had to apply offline for the PM Awas Yojana. Now you can apply online for this as well. The central government has launched a mobile app to simplify the application process of the PM Awas Yojana, through which you can apply under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana from the comfort of your home.

Apart from this, every small and big information about the scheme can be easily obtained through the mobile app. All the information from the list of beneficiaries to applying is available in this mobile app.
What is the whole process?
After applying through the mobile app, it will be verified by the officials. If you are not eligible, you will be stopped here. If everything is found correct in the verification, then the process of e-KYC will be started. After its completion, your application will be accepted. You will get this information on your mobile app itself. That is, after the completion of the process, the name of the applicant will be included in the list of beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana.
The scope of the plan has expanded
Till now only those people could apply under the PM Awas Yojana whose monthly income is Rs 10,000. Apart from this, those people who have fridge, bike and mobile were also not included in the scheme. However, now this is not the case. The government has increased the scope of the scheme. Families whose monthly income is Rs 15000 will be eligible for PM Awas.
