Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the general budget for the financial year 2024-25. Many important announcements have been made for the farmers in this budget. They have been taken care of from natural farming to digitization.
The government has taken important steps towards land reform. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government is committed to improving land administration, urban planning, use and building bylaws in both rural and urban areas. All lands in rural areas will be given a unique land parcel identification number.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the land will get an identification number. Which is known as Bhu-Aadhaar (ULPIN). Along with the identification number of the land, survey, mapping, ownership rights and registration of farmers will be done. This will help them in getting loans.
Land registration offices will be set up
The Finance Minister said in the Budget 2024 speech that moving towards land reform, land records in urban areas will be digitized with GIS mapping. There is a proposal to reform land administration, urban planning, use and by-laws related to buildings in both urban and urban areas. All lands in rural areas will be given a unique plot identification number. Land registration offices will be set up in rural areas.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman further said in her budget speech that the central government will work closely with the states to implement land reforms in both rural and urban areas. The central government will encourage the states to complete these reforms within the time limit. It will also provide financial assistance for this.
