Indian Railway Waiting Ticket Rules: To make the journey easy and comfortable, the rules have been changed by the railways.

Now the railways have changed the rules of waiting tickets to be strict on this. According to the new rule, only passengers with confirmed reservations will be able to travel in the reservation coach.

Railways changed the rules for waiting tickets

For this, Indian Railways has changed the rules of waiting tickets. You will no longer be able to travel in reservation bogies or AC coaches with railway waiting tickets, whether you have booked the ticket through online booking or from the ticket counter. That is, even if you have booked a waiting ticket from the ticket counter, you will not be able to sit in a reserved coach or reservation bogie with that waiting ticket.

What is the new rule of Railways for waiting tickets?

According to the rules of the railways, if you book a waiting ticket online from IRCTC, you will not be able to travel in a reserved coach. If the ticket is not confirmed, your money will be refunded automatically. If you have taken a waiting ticket from the counter, earlier people used to enter the reservation coach with the waiting ticket, but now this will not happen. With a waiting ticket bought from the railway ticket counter, you will be able to travel only in the general coach. There will be no exemption to travel in reservation or AC coach.

What will happen if I travel in a reservation coach with a waiting ticket?

If you travel in reserved coaches with a waiting ticket, the TTE can make you get off at the next station. Along with this, you will have to pay a fine. Passengers traveling on waiting tickets will not get entry into the reservation coach. If you are caught doing this, you will have to pay a fine of up to Rs 440. If you travel in a reserved coach with a waiting ticket, you will have to pay a hefty fine. If caught doing this, the fare from the starting station to where you have traveled and a fine of at least Rs 440 can be charged from you.
