Banks were closed on 14th April on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, and next Friday, 18th April, banks will remain closed on the occasion of Good Friday. Now Good Friday is a holiday
After Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April, now all the government and private banks will remain closed on 18th April on the occasion of Good Friday. As per RBI guidelines, all the banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month and every Sunday. Apart from this, there are local holidays and festivals in banks in India.
Today, on 15 April (Tuesday), banks are closed in Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh due to Bengali New Year, Himachal Day and Bohag Bihu – these state specific festivals. On 18 April (Friday), banks will remain closed all over the country due to Good Friday. On the other hand, 20 April (Sunday) – Easter Sunday is a non-working day for all public and private banks across the country, i.e. there will be no work in banks on this day.
