Election Commission Press Conference: Election Commission has announced the dates of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. Elections will be held in a single phase in Haryana on October 1.
Elections will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. The first phase of voting in Haryana will be held on September 18. The second phase of voting will be held on September 25. Apart from this, the third phase of voting will be held on October 1. The results of assembly elections in these states will come on October 4. Know the complete schedule–

Voting will be held in Haryana (Haryana Election Dates) in a single phase on October 1.
Elections in Jammu and Kashmir from September 18
Assembly elections will be held in Jammu Kashmir (Jammu Kashmir Election Dates) in 3 phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on 18 September. The second phase of voting will be held on 25 September. Apart from this, voting for the third phase will be held on 1 October.

‘Lok Sabha elections successfully concluded’
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar while addressing the media in a press conference said, ‘The 2024 Lok Sabha elections were the biggest election process at the world level. It was conducted successfully and peacefully. It created a strong democratic ground, it was peaceful without any violence and the whole country celebrated the elections. We also made many records. For the first time, the highest voter turnout was recorded in the world.’

CEC Rajiv Kumar further said, ‘We visited Jammu and Kashmir (Jammu Kashmir Elections) and Haryana and took stock of the preparations for the elections in these places. There was tremendous enthusiasm among the people. They wanted to participate in the election process. People want elections to be held as soon as possible. The long queues at polling stations in Jammu and Kashmir during the Lok Sabha elections are proof that people not only want change but also want to raise their voice by becoming a part of that change. The people of Jammu and Kashmir chose ballot instead of bullet in the Lok Sabha elections.’

Elections on 90 assembly seats in JK
He further said, ‘There are a total of 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 74 are general, SC-7 and ST-9. There will be a total of 87.09 lakh voters in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 44.46 lakh are men, 42.62 lakh are women, 3.71 lakh are first-time voters and 20.7 lakh are young voters. The Amarnath Yatra will end on August 19 and the final voter list will also be published on August 20.’ Let us tell you that the Supreme Court had ordered to conduct elections in Jammu and Kashmir by 30 September 2024.
There are 2 crore total voters in Haryana
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar says, ‘There are a total of 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana (Haryana Election) , out of which 73 are general, SC-17 and ST-0. There will be a total of 2.01 crore voters in Haryana, out of which 1.06 crore are men, 0.95 crore are women, 4.52 lakh are first-time voters and 40.95 lakh are young voters. The voter list of Haryana will be published on August 27, 2024.’
