To update Aadhaar online for free, you will have to visit the official website of uidai. Here you will see that this service is free till 14th September. That is, at present, you are being given the facility of free Aadhaar update (Free Aadhaar Update Last Date) on the UIDAI site.   • First of all, go to the official website of UIDAI, uidai.gov.in.
  • Here you have to select your language. You can choose any language shown here other than Hindi as per your convenience.
  • Now click on whatever information you want to update. For example, if you want to update your address then you will have to select the option of Aadhaar update.
  • On the next screen, you will have to log in to My Aadhaar by entering your Aadhaar number and captcha code.
  • After this, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification. Through this, you will be able to login.
  • Then a new window will open where at the top you will see the option of document update. 
  • Now go to document update and verify your demographic details like name, date of birth, address.
  • After verifying all the details, upload the identity and address proof documents. 
  • This document should be in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format only and less than 2 MB in size. 
  • You can upload any of the listed documents including PAN card, Voter card, Passport, Driving License as proof.
  • After uploading all the details and documents here, click on the submit button. 
  • After this, a 14 digit update request number will be sent to your registered mobile number. With this number, you can track your Aadhaar update request.
  • Once your Aadhaar card is updated, you will be sent a mail or message from UIDAI.
  • Once Aadhaar is updated, you can download it by visiting the UIDAI site.

You will have to pay this much charge for updating Aadhaar card offline

At the same time, if you want to update your Aadhaar card offline, then you can do this by going to the nearest Aadhaar center. But if you go to the Aadhaar center and get your Aadhaar card updated, then you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

What will happen if Aadhaar card is not updated by 14th September?

UIDAI is giving you the opportunity to update your Aadhaar card for free till 14th September. Earlier the deadline for updating your Aadhaar card for free was 14th June, which was extended to 14th September. If you want to update your Aadhaar card for free, then do not delay at all. You have 15 days left to update your Aadhaar for free. After this, you will have to pay a charge of Rs 50 for updating your Aadhaar.

Will the Aadhaar card become useless or closed after September 14?
