Aadhaar card new deadline: UIDAI has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar update from September 15, 2024 to December 14, 2024. Earlier, the last date was September 14, 2024. If the free service had not been extended, it would have cost you up to Rs 50 to update Aadhaar. However, now there is a chance to update it for free once again.
UIDAI said in an update on social media platform X that the free online document upload service has been extended till December 14, 2024. UIDAI said that this move is likely to benefit millions of Aadhaar number holders.
The nodal agency for Aadhaar said that the free service can be availed only on the myAadhaar portal. UIDAI urged people to ensure that their documents are updated in Aadhaar.
Steps to update Aadhaar online for free
-Visit my Aadhaar portal: myAadhaar.uidai.gov.in
-Click on the Document Update section.
-This will allow you to upload proof of identity and address for free.
-Click on What to submit and how to submit.
-Next, click on Submit.
-Enter your Aadhaar number and security captcha code.
-Select Login with OTP.
-Log in by entering your OTP.
-Next, you will have to update your name, phone number and address and also attach proof of identity and address.
-Make sure that your demographic information is updated on the portal.
-If not, visit the nearest Aadhaar centre to update your name, gender, address, date of birth.
-Click on the box below for address.
-Click on Proceed.
-Now upload your proof of identity and address in the prescribed format.
-Click on Proceed to proceed to the next step.
-Now complete your Aadhaar update.
-Download the receipt for future reference.
